All-Star Defenseman To Join Knights in Fall of 2025

HOOKSETT, NH -- Grant Burback, a defenseman for the New Hampshire Avalanche, has committed to Arcadia University for the fall of 2025.

An '04 from Lincoln, NE, Burback has played 22 games this season, contributing seven goals and five assists in his final year of junior hockey.

“Grant played last season in the NCDC and decided to come to us in his last season of junior,” said Avalanche head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. “He has been a great leader and a great player for us this season. We are so proud of his commitment to continue his athletic and academic career at the NCAA level. Burbs will be a great addition to the Arcadia community, both in the classroom and in the locker room. He is going to have a great four years.”

Arcadia University, located in Glenside, PA, competes in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) as an NCAA Division III program.

"I am proud to announce my commitment to Arcadia University to further my education and continue my hockey career,” said Burback. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and most importantly God for this opportunity. This wouldn’t be possible without everyone helping me along the way. A special thank you to Coach Cerrella and the Avalanche—it was a great decision believing in the staff and organization here in New Hampshire.”
