Top EHL & EHLP Performers for Week #13

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Stars of Week 13 for December 10th-15th.

Eastern Hockey League

North Division

Cory Alissi - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Cory Alissi of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’05 native of West Hartford, CT had two goals and three assists in two team wins this week. Alissi notched a goal and two assists in a 7-1 win against the East Coast Wizards and also contributed a goal and an assist in a 7-1 win over the Boston Dukes. In 15 games played, Alissi has 11 points (3G, 8A) for the Avalanche. The Avalanche (19-2-0-2) will next face-off with the Pennsylvania Huntsmen (9-11-1-0) Tuesday in their first game of the December Showcase in Haverhill at 12 noon.

East Division

Thomas Plamondon - Seahawks Hockey Club (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Thomas Plamondon from the Seahawks Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Plamondon, an ’04 native of Montreal, QUE had the overtime winning goal 39 seconds in to beat the Bridgewater Bandits 3-2. Plamondon also chipped in a third period power play goal in a 4-2 win over the Boston Jr. Eagles. Plamondon is committed to St. John Fisher University for next year and in 22 games played this season, he has 15 points. The Seahawks will take on the Connecticut RoughRiders at 4:00pm in their first game of the December Showcase.

Central Division

Kaden Clegg - Providence Capitals (G)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is goaltender Kaden Clegg from the Providence Capitals. The ’06 native of West Kelowna, BC had a terrific performance in net in a 4-1 win over the CT Nor’Easter. Clegg allowed just one goal and had 41 saves to help his team earn the win. In 10 appearances this season, Clegg is 5-3 with a 2.31 GAA in 597 minutes played.  The Capitals (13-6-1-1) will be back in action Tuesday when they take on the New Jersey Bears (19-5-0-2) at 6:00 pm in the December Showcase in Haverhill.

South Division

Christian Kinsler - Philadelphia Little Flyers (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is Philadelphia Little Flyers forward Christian Kinsler. Kinsler, an ’04 native of Aston, PA had two big games for his team this week with four goals and two assists. Kinsler scored a hat trick in a 7-1 win over the New York Apple Core. The following day in a 7-4 win against the Apple Core, Kinsler chipped in a goal and two assists. Kinsler has been key on the offense for the Little Flyers with 17 points (9G, 8A) in 20 games. The Little Flyers (7-10-1-2) will take on the Boston Jr. Eagles at 5:10 pm Monday in the December Showcase.

North Division

Evan Vasiljevs - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Evan Vasiljevs from the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’05 Cheshire, CT native contributed at least one point in all four of his team’s games this week. Vasiljevs finished the week with three goals and two assists. He had the first goal in a 2-1 win over the Valley Jr. Warriors, had a goal and an assist in a big 7-5 win over the New England Wolves, chipped in an assist in a 5-0 shutout win over the Adirondack Jr. Thunder and finished the week off with the game-winning goal in a 5-4 win against Adirondack. In 22 games played, Vasiljevs has 19 points (10G, 9A). Next up, the Avalanche (16-6-2-1) will host the New England Wolves (22-2-0-0) Tuesday at 12:10pm.

East Division

Cooper Grossguth - Express Hockey Club (F)

The EHLP East Division Star of the Week for week 13 is forward Cooper Grossguth from the Express Hockey Club. The ’05 Warwick, RI native had two goals and five assists in three games played this week. Grossguth assisted on three of the Express’ four goals in a 4-3 overtime win against the Bridgewater Bandits. He then had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over CT Nor’Easter and the following day scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 win against the Nor’Easter. Grossguth continues to be a force for the Express with 34 points (14G, 20A) in 21 games played. The Express (10-10-1-2) are off now until January 4.Honorable Mention

South Division

Alec Osher - New Jersey 87's (D)

The South Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is defenseman Alec Osher from the New Jersey 87’s. The ’04 native of Old Bridge, NJ had a goal in a 3-0 shutout win over the Union Jr. Thunder and chipped in two more goals in a 5-2 win against the Philly Little Flyers. Osher has been a staple blue-liner for the 87’s and has 25 points (10G, 15A) in 22 games played. The 87’s (20-3-0-0) are off until January 5.
