Bandits All-Star Netminder Set to Join Amcats for 2025-26 Season

Bridgewater, MA – Lorenz Hofer, a goaltender for the Bridgewater Bandits, has committed to Anna Maria College (AMC) for the fall of 2025.

An ’04 from Innsbruck, Austria, Hofer has played 16 games with a 3.95 GAA and .903 SV% this season.

“I’m so happy for Lorenz; he's a great person and teammate,” said Bandits head coach and general manager Scott Drevitch. “He has a calm presence in the net, really helping our team. He has worked hard at his craft, and we are all excited for his commitment to Anna Maria.”

Anna Maria College, located in Paxton, MA, competes in the NCAA Division III level and will be playing in the MASCAC conference this coming season, under the leadership of head coach David McCauley.

Hofer expressed pride and gratitude as he prepares to continue his hockey and academic journey in the United States.

“I am very proud to commit to AMC. It is a great honor,” said Hofer. “I would like to thank my parents and friends for all the support over the years. I would also like to thank my past coaches for educating me on and off the ice. It’s an honor to be able to continue my academic and athletic career in America, especially since these opportunities are not common in Austria. I’m super excited and cannot wait to get started.”

Hofer and the Bandits currently hold the 4th and final playoff spot in the East Division, with a two-point lead over the Seahawks Hockey Club entering the final week and a half of January. Bridgewater will surely lean on their all-star netminder down the stretch, with 18 games remaining on their regular season schedule.
