Bears All-Star Forward Set to Join Colonels for 2025-26 Season

Flemington, NJ – Owen House, a forward for the New Jersey Bears, has committed to Wilkes University for the fall of 2025.

An ’04 from Plymouth, MN, House has played in 30 games this season, recording 15 goals and 26 assists for a total of 41 points. House currently ranks as the 5th leading scorer in the league.

“Owen has been a great leader on and off the ice this season from day one,” said Bears head coach Jason Kilcoyne. “He is a player that wants to be pushed and wants to be better every day. His ability to take coaching and implement it into the game effectively is outstanding. Very happy for Owen—he is getting everything that he deserves.”

Wilkes University, located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), under the leadership of head coach Tyler Hynes.

“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Wilkes University to continue my academic and athletic career,” said House. “I would like to thank my teammates, coaches, and family—especially my parents—for all the sacrifices they made to help me get to this point. I’d also like to thank the New Jersey Bears organization, especially Coach Jason Kilcoyne. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Hynes and Coach Bennett for giving me the opportunity to play college hockey. Go Colonels!"

House and the Bears currently hold the 1st place position in the South Division, with a three-point lead over the New Jersey 87's, despite their in-state rival owning a game in hand over them. House and the Bears have 15 regular season games remaining to try and clinch the top spot for the upcoming postseason.
