Second-Year Wizards Defenseman Will Join Hawks for 2025-26 Season

Bedford, MA – Nick Heaslipa defenseman for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Roger Williams University (RWU) for the fall of 2025.

An ’04 from Lynnfield, MA, Heaslip has played in 73 games over two seasons with the Wizards, recording four goals and 22 assists for a total of 26 points.

“We couldn’t be happier for Nick and his commitment to RWU,” said Wizards head coach and general manager Kory Falite. “They will be getting a top-quality defenseman and, on top of that, an even better human being. Nick was a unanimous captain selection this year for us, and he has more than followed through on his responsibilities both on and off the ice. We’re looking forward to watching him grow as a hockey player and person at the next level!”

Roger Williams University, located in Bristol, Rhode Island, will compete in the Conference of New England (CNE) at the NCAA Division III level, led by head coach Chris Hall.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to Roger Williams University to continue my academic and athletic career,” said Heaslip. “I would like to thank my mother Stacey, my father Derek, my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point. I would especially like to thank the Wizards organization and coaches Kory Falite, Joe Ripa, Eddie Pavlini, and our strength coach Adrien Peacock, for giving me the opportunity to lead our team. I can’t wait to get started with Coach Hall this coming season — Go Hawks!”

Nick is the second player this season to commit to Roger Williams, joining Jacob Kettwig from the Connecticut Nor'Easter.
