Wizards’ All-Star Defenseman to Join Hawks for 2025-26 Season

Bedford, MA – Cooper St. Hilaire, a defenseman for the East Coast Wizards (ECW), has committed to Roger Williams University (RWU) for the 2025-26 season.

An '04 from Lewiston, ME, St. Hilaire has played in 80 total games across two seasons, recording 8 goals and 31 assists for a total of 39 points. His 24 points this season ranks him second in scoring amongst all defensemen.

“We’re so happy for Cooper and his commitment to RWU,” said Wizards head coach Kory Falite. “He has been a huge piece of our defense the past two seasons. We can’t say enough positive things about him both on and off the ice. His work ethic is a huge reason he’s been one of the best defensemen in the league this year, and has led to his commitment to RWU. We’re excited to see his game continue to grow at the next level.”

St. Hilaire’s commitment marks the fourth EHL player to join Roger Williams University this season, including his twin brother Daxton, Wizards teammate Nick Heaslip, and the Connecticut Nor'Easter's Jacob Kettwig. The duo, along with two other Wizards players, represented the organization as members of the Northeast All-Star Team under the leadership of Coach Falite. Roger Williams University, located in Bristol, Rhode Island, will compete in the Conference of New England (CNE) at the NCAA Division III level, led by head coach Chris Hall.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to Roger Williams to continue my academic and athletic career,” said St. Hilaire. “First off, I would like to thank my parents for their sacrifices and endless encouragement throughout the years. Also, thanks to my entire extended family, youth and high school coaches for the tremendous support during my hockey career. I wouldn’t be in this position without them. Next, I’d like to thank the whole Wizards organization—Kory Falite, Joe Ripa, Eddie Pavlini, and our strength coach Adrien Peacock. They all guided me to become the best player I could possibly be through my two years playing for the Wizards. Lastly, I’d like to thank Coach Hall for giving me the opportunity to play college hockey. I can’t wait to get started. Go Hawks!”
