Rhode Island All-Star Goaltender to Join Colonels for 2025-26 Season

Warwick, RI – Ryan Rhodes, a goaltender for HC Rhode Island (HRI), has committed to Curry College for the 2025-26 season.

An ’04 from Ludlow, MA, Rhodes has played in 20 games so far this season, recording a 2.05 GAA and a ,945 save percentage, amassing a recording of 10-6-0.

“I am extremely proud of Ryan Rhodes on his well-earned commitment to Curry College where he will further his academic and athletic careers,” said HC Rhode Island Head Coach James Mello. “Ryan embodies everything you want from a goaltender and teammate. Through his performances this season he has proven, night in and night out, that he is an elite goaltender in this league. He represented HC Rhode Island in the NCAA Main All-Star event this season and has been deserving of the attention he has received. He has a calming presence in the net, the ability to control games and gives us a chance to win every night. Coach Roundy and Curry are getting a first-class human and goaltender. We are thrilled for Ryan and the entire Rhodes family.”

Curry College, located in Milton, MA, competes at the NCAA Division III level, led by head coach Pete Roundy.

“I am really excited to further my academic and athletic experience at Curry College,” said Rhodes. “I want to thank my family, the HCRI family, all of my teammates, as well as everyone who has helped me on this journey. I wouldn't be at this point if it weren’t for them. I am truly looking forward to the rest of this season and what the future holds in store.”

“We are extremely happy for Ryan and the entire Rhodes family,” added HC Rhode Island General Manager Toby O’Brien. “It takes a great deal of commitment to grow opportunities like this and they should be proud. As an organization it solidifies everything we talk about, there are quality players everywhere and good college programs recruit everywhere. Decide what is your best path and then be the best at it - Ryan has done that and a top 5 program like Curry College noticed.”
