Top EHL & EHLP Performers for Week #19

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Stars of Week 19 for February 4th - 10th.

Eastern Hockey League

North Division

Marek Herda - New England Wolves (D)

The EHL is pleased to announce defenseman Marek Herda of the New England Wolves as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 native of Tabor, Czechia had a great showing in the Wolves lone game of the week which was a 4-3 loss to the East Coast Wizards. Herda had a hand in all three goals, scoring one and assisting on the other two. Herda has been a staple on the blue line this season and in 35 games has tallied 25 points (7G, 18A). The Wolves (26-9-0-0) will be back in action Tuesday taking on the Bridgewater Bandits at 12 noon.

East Division

Nick Haust - Boston Jr Eagles (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Nick Haust of the Boston Jr. Eagles as the East Division Star of the Week. Haust, an ’04 native of Alabaster, AL had a four-point game in a 7-1 win over the Boston Dukes. Haust contributed a hat trick and an assist in the win making his presence known on the ice. Haust is having a great first season with the Jr. Eagles as in 36 games has 24 points (11G, 13A). The Jr. Eagles (15-18-3-0) will be back in action Tuesday taking on the Seahawks HC at Tony Kent Arena at 12:30 pm.

Central Division

Ryan Sikorski - Connecticut Nor'Easter (D)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is defenseman Ryan Sikorski from the Connecticut Nor’Easter. The ’05 native of Long Island, NY tallied two goals and three assists in three games this week. Sikorski had a goal and an assist in a 6-5 shootout loss to the CT RoughRiders. He had the overtime winning goal for the Nor’Easter in a 4-3 win against the Providence Capitals and chipped in two assists in a 5-4 win over HC Rhode Island. In 36 games this season, the blue-liner has 23 points (8G, 15A). The Nor’Easter (14-20-1-2) next up will take on the RoughRiders Thursday at 11:30 am.

South Division

Ivan Kulagin - New Jersey 87's (F)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey 87’s forward Ivan Kulagin. Kulagin, an ’05 native of Vladimir, Russia had two solid games for his team this week with three goals and an assist in two games played. Kulagin had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. He also had two of the three goals scored in a 3-0 shutout win against the Huntsmen. Kulagin is having a great season for the 87’s with 34 points (18G, 16A) in 35 games played. The 87’s (26-9-1-0) next up host the New Jersey Bears (25-8-0-4) Thursday at 12:30pm.

Eastern Hockey League Premier

North Division

Bradley Parker - Adirondack Jr Thunder (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Bradley Parker from the Adirondack Jr. Thunder as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 Toronto, ONT native had a huge week tallying five goals and two assists in two games. In a wild 9-7 loss to the New England Wolves, Parker had two goals and two assists. He followed that performance up with a hat trick in a 9-5 win against the Wolves. Parker has been an offensive weapon this season with an astounding 54 points (25G, 29A) in 25 games played. The Jr. Thunder (16-14-0-1) next up will host the Vermont Lumberjacks Wednesday at 7:00pm.

East Division

Jack Farrell - Providence Capitals (F)

The EHLP East Division Star of the Week for week 19 is forward Jack Farrell from the Providence Capitals. The ’06 Burrillville, RI native notched a hat trick in an 8-4 win over the Bridgewater Bandits. Farrell has been a key part of the Capitals offense this season and so far has put up 37 points (19G, 18A) in 26 games played. The Capitals (19-12-1-0) will look to keep it going Wednesday when they play CT Nor’Easter AAA Academy at 12 noon.

South Division

Viktor Strnad - Pennsylvania Huntsmen (G)

The South Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is goaltender Viktor Strnad from the Pennsylvania Huntsmen. The ’08 native of Pilsen, Czech Republic had an outstanding showing in goal earning his second shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over the New Jersey Bears. Strnad had 24 saves in the big win for his team. In 12 starts for the Huntsmen this season, Strnad is 5-7 with a 3.38 GAA in 674 minutes played. The Huntsmen (14-17-0-1) will be back in action Friday night taking on the New Jersey Renegades at 8:10 pm.
