Top EHL & EHLP Performers for Week #22

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) Announce Stars of Week 22 for February 25th-March 3rd.

Eastern Hockey League

North Division

Owen Guerin - New Hampshire Avalanche (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Owen Guerin of the New Hampshire Avalanche as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 native of Gilford, NH contributed three goals and four assists in a busy week for the Avalanche. Guerin had a goal and two assists in a big 13-2 win over the Boston Dukes. The following day he netted two huge goals including the overtime winner in a 5-4 overtime win against the New England Wolves. Guerin has had a terrific season so far with 40 points (17G, 23A) in 40 games played. He is also committed to Western New England University for next season. The Avalanche (36-3-0-4) will be back in action Saturday in the Philadelphia Showcase taking on the Seahawks Hockey Club at 4:20pm.

East Division

Danny Kehoe - Seahawks Hockey Club (F)

The EHL is pleased to announce forward Danny Kehoe of the Seahawks Hockey Club as the East Division Star of the Week. Kehoe, an ’05 native of Palm Beach, FL tallied five goals and two assists in his team’s four wins this week. Kehoe had a least two points in three of the four games. He had a goal in a 5-0 win over the Bridgewater Bandits, a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Eagles, two goals in a 9-1 win over the Eagles and closed out the week with a goal and assist in a 3-1 win against HC Rhode Island. Kehoe has been on fire for the Seahawks this season with 43 points (16G, 27A) in 39 games. The Seahawks (20-18-2-2) look to keep it going Tuesday hosting the Providence Capitals at 12 noon.

Central Division

Mike Bianco - HC Rhode Island (F)

The Central Division Star of the Week for the EHL is forward Mike Bianco from HC Rhode Island. The ’04 native of Ridgefield, CT tallied three goals and two assists in three games played this week. Bianco had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 loss to the Valley Jr. Warriors, two goals and an assist in a 3-2 win over the Bridgewater Bandits and the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Seahawks. In 38 games this season, Bianco has 41 points (27G, 14A). HC Rhode Island (19-17-5-2) will be back in action Friday taking on the New York Apple Core in the Philadelphia Showcase at 2:20pm.

Dylan Gorman - New Jersey 87's (G)

The South Division Star of the Week in the EHL is New Jersey 87’s goaltender Dylan Gorman. Gorman, an ’04 native of Rye, NY had two wins in goal this week. The first was a 7-2 win over the CT RoughRiders where he allowed two goals and had 29 saves. In his second start of the week, Gorman allowed just one goal and had 20 saves in a 6-1 win over the NY Apple Core. In 10 appearances for the 87’s this season, Gorman is 6-2 with a 2.33 GAA in 541 minutes played. The 87’s (30-11-1-0) will be back in action Tuesday taking on the Philadelphia Little Flyers at 12 noon.

North Division

Jake Scott - Valley Jr Warriors (F)

The EHLP is pleased to announce forward Jake Scott from the Valley Jr. Warriors as the North Division Star of the Week. The ’04 Oak Bluffs, MA native had a big performance this week in a 6-1win over the Express Hockey Club. Scott tallied two goals and two assists in the big win. Scott has had a tremendous showing for the Jr. Warriors this season. In 39 games, he has 29 points (15G, 14A). The Jr. Warriors (20-15-4-0) next up play the Bridgewater Bandits Friday at 6:20pm in the Philadelphia Showcase.

Ben Ashton - Express Hockey Club (G)

The EHLP East Division Star of the Week for week 22 is goaltender Ben Ashton from the Express Hockey Club. The ’05 New London, NH native had two stellar outings in goal this week. The first was a 3-2 overtime win over the Seahawks where Ashton allowed two goals and had 33 saves. He followed that up with a 3-1 win over the Providence Capitals where he gave up just one goal and had an astounding 49 saves. In 19 appearances this season, Ashton is 9-7 with a 2.46 GAA in 1,099 minutes played. The Express (19-17-1-2) next up face the New England Wolves at 6:00pm in the Philadelphia Showcase.

South Division

Anthony Prunty - New Jersey Renegades (F)

The South Division Star of the Week for the EHLP is forward Anthony Prunty from the New Jersey Renegades.  The ’06 native of Jefferson, NJ had a monster game tallying five goals and two assists in a big 9-8 overtime win over the Philadelphia Little Flyers. Prunty had a hand in seven of the nine goals in the big performance. In 16 games this season, Prunty has been a key offensive contributor with 26 points (16G, 10A). The Renegades (15-19-2-2) next up host the Little Flyers Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
