Wall Township, NJ – Nikita Sobolev, a forward for the New Jersey 87’s, has committed to New England College for the Fall of 2025.

“Nikita has been in our program and has won a championship with us,” 87’s Head Coach Adam Houli said. “I am so proud of his development and could not be happier for him. He is going to be a fantastic player in college and we are going to miss him. His work ethic and trust in his staff is truly amazing and I am happy to see him reach a goal of playing college hockey.”

NEC’s roster is filled with former EHL talent. Led by Head Coach Tom Carroll, the Pilgrams have also committed Jack Brennan (ECW) and Casey Sturm (NJB) this season.

“I am very excited to choose NEC,” Sobolev said. “I am beyond excited to get my next step started and I could not be more thankful for my family, teammates, and coaches. l loved my visit and can't wait to spend the next four years with NEC.”
