Wellesley, MA – Anthony Venezia, a forward for the Boston Jr Eagles (BJE), has committed to Framingham State University for the 2025-2026 season.
The 04’ native of Watertown, MA is a product of the league’s ladder of development, climbing from EHLP to EHL and now to NCAA hockey. After a successful Premier season, Venezia made a seamless transition to the EHL, tallying five goals and nine assists in 37 games this season. He also scored the first postseason goal in Eagles’ history in the EHL.
"Anthony is everything a coach is looking for in a player,” said Eagles Head Coach Ian Moran. “He has an unrelenting positive attitude, pulling for his teammates even when things were not going his way and he fought through an injury to come back centering our top unit down the stretch. He was a key member of our special team units and a player we leaned on heavily when it mattered most. Tony was a pleasure to work with and help. FSU is getting a high character person who will make the program proud"
Venezia will be joined by Eagles teammate Cullen Lacey, along with Grig Kaagan (BWB), Aidan Elbrecht (NJS), Isak Saldjoughi (SHC), and Jeremy Zecher (SHC). The Rams compete in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) under Head Coach Mike Bailey.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better year with Coach Ian and the Eagles,” Venezia said. “It was a ton of fun and I was able to grow a lot as a player. Special thanks to my parents for all the sacrifices they made for me to reach my goal and I can’t wait to be Ram.”
