Wizards Second-Year All-Star Forward to join Spartans this Fall

Bedford, MA – Joey Ala, a forward for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Castleton State University for the Fall of 2025.

An 04’ out of Concord, NH, Ala played two seasons with the Wizards. This year he doubled his point production from his first season, tallying fifteen goals and 39 assists. In total, Ala amassed 71 points in 88 games.

“We are so happy for Joe in his commitment to Castleton for this coming Fall,” said Head Coach Kory Falite. “They are getting a really talented hockey player that should be able to produce immediately. He was such a big piece to our offense the last two seasons, and he will be hard to replace. We look forward to watching him have success at the next level.”

Ala joins multiple EHL players to commit to the Spartans this season. Castleton competes in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), under Head Coach Kyle Richards, and currently features nine EHL alumni on the roster.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to Castleton to continue my academic and athletic career,” Ala said. “I would like to thank my parents, extended family, and coaches for helping me get to this point. I would especially like to thank the Wizards organization and coaches Kory Falite, Joe Ripa, Eddie Pavlini, and our Strength Coach Adrien Peacock for giving me the opportunity to be a part of a great program. I can’t wait to get started with Coach Richards this coming season.”
