Nor'Easter Forward to Join Owls in Fall

Simsbury, CT – Jackson Gruber, a forward for the Connecticut Nor'Easter, has committed to Westfield State University for the 2025-2026 season.

An 05’ out of Burlington, Ontario, Gruber emerged as one of the Nor’Easter’s most reliable producers in his rookie season. With eight goals and nineteen assists, Gruber proved to be a consistent force on the Nor’Easter offense. Nine of his 34 games were multi-point performances as well.

“I am really happy for Jackson,” said former Nor’Easter Head Coach Greg Heffernan. “He is a great person with boatloads of hockey upside. I am very excited for my good friend Bob Miele, as Jackson is just a great fit for Westfield State. I look forward to watching them next season.”

Gruber joins a number of EHL alumni on the Owls, including Nik Vasiljevs, who also played for Coach Heffernan.

“I loved my time as a Nor’Easter,” Gruber said. “I feel like I grew and learned a lot about myself as a player with my time there”.
