Seahawks Defenseman to Join Cougars in Fall

SOUTH DENNIS, MA -- Aidan Gallagher, a defenseman for Seahawks Hockey Club, has committed to Misericordia University for the 2025-26 season.

An 04’ out of Somerville, NJ, Gallagher played his age-out year for the Seahawks in the EHL. He collected two goals and eight assists, with one of those goals being an overtime winner and both being game winners. He played in all five of their postseason games.

“We are very happy for Aidan and his family,” Seahawks Head Coach Bill Zaniboni said. “Aidan did everything for our club this season, including playing premier games, which he would volunteer to get more ice. He is an all in type of player for the logo and he will continue that at the college level. Aidan played in all of our situations throughout the season and was a huge part of our D-core, making it to the divisional finals. We are excited to watch Aidan play NCAA hockey and continue to grow.”

Gallagher joins a plethora of EHL alumni on the Cougars’ roster, including three former Seahawks.

“I'm proud to announce my commitment to Misericordia University to continue my academic and athletic journey,” Gallagher said. “I’m incredibly excited to attend Misericordia and pursue a degree in Business and Criminal Justice while continuing to play hockey at the collegiate level, something I’ve dreamed of for a long time."

"I want to thank all the coaches and teams who have helped me reach this point—especially Coach Zaniboni and the entire Seahawks staff, who really pushed me this year; Coach Jardine at the NJ Titans; my first youth coaches during squirts; and Coach Puskar and Coach Berhje at the New Jersey Penguins. I'm especially grateful to my family for their constant support and sacrifices—particularly my parents, whose hard work has made it possible for me to pursue my goals in both hockey and academics. A special thanks as well to my grandparents, who watch every game on the broadcasts. I may be able to carry my bag on my own now, but I think my grandma would still take it for me if I let her. I hope to pass on my love for the game to others and continue to grow both on and off the ice."
