BRIDGEWATER, MA – Christopher Maybury, a defenseman for the Bridgewater Bandits, has committed to Westfield State University for the 2025-26 season.
Maybury, an 04’ out of Jacksonville, FL, was an All-Divisional defenseman for the Bandit this past season. Selecting the EHL for his age-out year, Maybury played in all but one game. He tallied one goal and 21 assists, leading the Bridgewater blueline in points and assists.
“I’m so happy for Chris,” Bandits Head Coach Scott Drevitch said. “He came to the Bridgewater Bandits with the purpose of getting better, working on his game, and going to college. We identified some things he had to work on to be a college hockey player. Chris was very coachable and he put the work in. Westfield State is getting an excellent person, teammate, and player.”
The Owls boast a number of EHL alumni, and are led by Head Coach Bob Miele.
“I am grateful to continue my academic and athletic career at Westfield State,” Maybury said. “I want to thank my coaches, family, and friends who have helped me along this path, especially my parents, my skills and training coach in the offseason Eric Perrin, and my personal trainer Chris Wall. It was an honor to play at the bandits program under Scott Drevitch. He really developed me as a player. Playing in the EHL was the best decision for me for my age-out year. I’m excited to play under Coach Miele this upcoming year and can’t wait to be an Owl.”
