MORE THAN 100 SCOUTS VIEWED ACTION AT FOUR-DAY EVENT

BOSTON, Mass. -- The first Showcase of the 2014-15 EHL Showcase Series concluded yesterday at Cyclones Arena in Hudson, N.H. The four-day event saw all 19 EHL teams play 27 league games in front of more than 100 NCAA coaches and professional scouts.

The host Northern Cyclones and the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, last season's EHL playoff finalists, each finished the weekend with perfect 3-0-0-0 records.  The Walpole Express' 2014-15 resurgence continued at the Showcase as they also battled to a 3-0-0-0 record, with a one-goal win over the Connecticut Oilers, a shootout win over the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack and an overtime victory over the Bobcats.

"I think the college coaches and scouts saw a very competitive stage for the players this weekend," said EHL Director of Hockey Operations Mark Kumpel.  "Having all the teams under one roof, playing multiple games before the NCAA Division III season begins, gives our players a great chance to get looked at early in the season."

The next segment in the EHL Showcase Series will be hosted by the Monarchs November 8-10 at Tri-Town Arena in Hooksett, N.H.
