Northern Cyclones Advance To USAH National Semifinals

SIMSBURY, Conn. -- The Northern Cyclones finished pool play Saturday by dropping a 5-2 decision to the NA3HL's Flint Jr. Generals, but will still advance to the semifinals at the USA Hockey Tier III Junior National Championships at the Internationals Skating Center of Connecticut.  The Cyclones will face the undefeated and top-seeded North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL at 5pm today.  The other semifinal at 2pm will feature the Boston Jr. Bruins (USPHL-Premier) and the Springfield Pics (USPHL-Elite).

The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs won their third game Saturday by a 5-3 margin over the Helena Bighorns of the America West Hockey League.  The Monarchs close their 2013-14 campaign with a regular season EHL trophy, a runner-up EHL playoff performance a 2-1 record at Nationals and a host of college commitments.
