BOSTON, Mass. -- Rarely does a team steamroll to a regular season record of 35-8-1-0 and a regular season title without excellent goaltending, and the 2013-14 performances of netminder Jake Theut and the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs were no exception to that rule.

The 6-3 Theut stood tall all season for the Monarchs and paced the EHL in wins with a 24-3 record between the pipes, while also tying for the league lead with four shutouts.  His GAA of 2.10 and Save Percentage of .935 both ranked third overall.  As good as Theut was during the regular season, his play has picked up in the postseason and he has a lock on virtually all goaltending categories through seven playoff contests.

The Washington, Mich., native will lead the top-seeded Monarchs into the EHL Playoff Championship later this week against the second-seeded Northern Cyclones.
