BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for January 20-26, 2014.  Left to Right: Frank Sherding, Tommy Bay and Christian Elsborg.

OFFENSIVE
Christian Elsborg, Valley Jr. Warriors
The 1993 birth-year forward from Frisco, Texas, helped Valley claim a pair of big North Division wins last week.  In the 5-0 victory over the Junior Rangers he scored the game winner and added an assist.  In Valley’s 5-2 win over the Bandits he provided three assist, including a helper on the game-winning goal, for a five-point week.

GOALIE
Tommy Bay, Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
The 1994 birth-year netminder from Duluth, Ga., backstopped the Junior Flyers to three victories this week by stopping 94.6 percent of the shots he faced.  The victories included a shutout over Washington and an overtime triumph over the South Division-leading Little Flyers.

DEFENSIVE
Frank Sherding, New York Applecore
The 1994 birth-year defenseman from Eastchester, N.Y., anchored Applecore’s blue line last week as New York won a pair of Central Division games, holding Hartford to one goal and the division-leading Oilers to two tallies.
