BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for December 9-15, 2013.  Left to Right: Frank Sherding, Jake Theut, Ken Tencza.

DEFENSIVE:  Frank Sherding, New York Applecore
The 1994 birth-year defenseman from Eastchester, N.Y., was a steady force in a wild weekend that saw Applecore claim a road sweep at Central Division rival Walpole.

GOALTENDER:  Jake Theut, New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs
The 1993 birth-year netminder from Washington, Mich., won his league-leading 13th and 14th games this week with victories over the Northern Cyclones and Valley Jr. Warriors.  He stopped 64 of 67 shots in the two victories for a save percentage of .955.  Theut ranks in the top five in all EHL goaltending categories.

OFFENSIVE:  Ken Tencza, Philadelphia Revolution
The 1994 birth-year forward from Naples, Fla., had a six-point weekend as the Revolution exploded for 13 goals and a pair of victories over South Division rivals.  Tencza tallied a hat trick on Saturday as the Revolution toppled the Little Flyers 5-2, then added three assists on Sunday as they hammered the Rockets 8-1.
