BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for October 28-November 3, 2013.  Left to Right:  Shawn LaCorte, Matthew Beliveau and Kevin Valenti.

DEFENSIVE:  Shawn LaCorte, New York Applecore
The 1994 birth year defenseman from Pompton Plains, N.J., played his usual, steady, high-minutes, grind-it-out style of defense as Applecore claimed two victories on the week.  “He’s an honest, hard-working defenseman, said head coach Frank Bretti.  “A guy we rely on game in and game out.

GOALTENDER:  Matthew Beliveau, Boston Jr. Rangers
The 1994 birth year player from Goffstown, N.H., ran his record to 5-0-0-0 on the season by backstopping both Rangers victories this week.  The wins brought the Rangers to within one game of .500 after an 0-4-0-0 start to the season.  Beliveau made 67 of 70 stops (.957) as to help lead his team to wins over the Bandits (2-1) and the Warriors (6-2).

OFFENSIVE:  Kevin Valenti, Northern Cyclones
The 1993 birth year forward from New York continued his torrid scoring pace with 3 goals, 2 assists and 5 points in two games as the Cyclones claimed victories over the Bandits (4-2) and Oilers (6-4). Valenti leads the EHL in scoring (28 points), points per game (2.3) and goals scored (13), and is tied for the league lead in game-winning goals with 3.
