EHL Players of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for Oct 21-27, 2013.  Left to Right:  Gabe Chuckran, Alec Derks and Greg Stoya

 

DEFENSIVE:  Gabe Chuckran, Philadelphia Little Flyers
The 1994 birth year player from Aston, Pa., was a key factor in the Little Flyers keeping their opponents to one goal in three PLF victories last week, including their current streak of 60 minutes and 50 seconds of shutout hockey.  He chipped in offensively with four assists against the Revolution and was +9 in the three games.

GOALTENDER:  Alec Derks, Philadelphia Little Flyers
The 1996 birth year player from Hawthorne Woods, Ill., posted a 2-0-0-0 record during the week, including a shutout victory over the high-scoring Northern Cyclones on Oct. 27.  Allowed only a late-game tally in a 6-1 victory over the Revolution.  Leads the EHL in GAA (1.22) and save percentage (.951) while he increased his record to 4-1-1-0 on the season.

OFFENSIVE:  Greg Stoya, Boston Junior Rangers
Helped get the Rangers back on track during a 2-1-0-0 road trip through New Jersey and Philadelphia.  The 1993 birth year player from Lake George, N.Y., had two goals and an assist in in both Ranger victories this week, including the game-winner in the 5-3 win over the Junior Flyers on Oct. 27
