BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for Oct 14-20, 2013.  Left to Right:  Jeff Baum, Spencer Landry and Jonathan Ruiz.

DEFENSIVE:  Jeff Baum, New York Bobcats
The Colleyville, Texas, native was a key factor in the Bobcats going 3-0-0-0 this week, including a weekend sweep of the Walpole Express, after the team's less-than-satisfactory showing at the Columbus Day Showcase.  In addition to his defensive skills, Baum was solid in moving the puck out of the defensive zone all three games and chipped in an assist on Oct. 16 against the Rockets. According to head coach Kevin Kerr his play was almost flawless during the three-game stretch.

GOALTENDER:  Spencer Landry, Hartford Jr. Wolfpack
Although the Wolfpack played only one game this week, it was a pivotal match-up with in-state rival Connecticut Oilers, who are leading the Central Division.  It was also the Wolfpack's only chance to get things going in the right direction after dropping three games at the Columbus Day Showcase.  Landry made 37 saves as the Wolfpack grabbed a 3-1 victory, which was Landry's first win of the season.  Landry is a returning player for Hartford who went 12-5-1-4 during the 2012-13 campaign and head coach Chris Cerrella will be countin gon him down the stretch in 2013-14.

OFFENSIVE:  Jonathan Ruiz, Philadelphia Junior Flyers
For the second week in a row the Junior Flyers claim this honor with some timely scoring from this 1994 birth-year player from Williamstown, N.J.   The Junior Flyers were 2-0 during the week, with wins over the Rockets and Little Flyers, to stretch their winning streak to four games.  Ruiz scored the game-winner in both victories, including a dramatic power play market Oct. 20 with 1:07 remaining in the contest against the Little Flyers.
