BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League announced today that Cameron Dineen of the New Jersey Rockets has been named the EHL's Rookie of the Year.

The 1998 birth year skater from Toms River, N.J., had no trouble making the transition from youth hockey to the Eastern Hockey League this season as he led all EHL defensemen, and his team, in scoring with 11-30-41 totals while logging minutes on power play and penalty kill units.  Dineen was also named an EHL First Team All-Star earlier this week as voted on by the EHL head coaches.

"Cam Dineen had an outstanding season for us,” said Rockets general manager and head coach Bob Thornton. "To have the performance he had as a ’98 birth year player is a testament to the type of player he is and the future he has in front of him. While recognized offensively, he certainly had an impact on the defensive side of things, often being paired against the opponent’s top line. We expect nothing but bright things from Cam in the future.”
