Blinick, Kelly, and Kuhn Named 3 Stars of the Week

A busy weekend in the EHL brought with it plenty of great action across the league. As always, the EHL had plenty of worthy candidates to choose from for this week's top stars.

This week, the EHL has selected George Blinick (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers), Austin Kelly (Philadelphia Little Flyers), and Sean Kuhn (Boston Jr. Rangers) as the EHL Stars of the Week.

George Blinick

Blinick and the Jr. Flyers swept their weekend series with the Nighthawks, picking up wins of 4-0 (Saturday) and 6-1 (Sunday). The four-point weekend tightens things up in the South Conference, as the 2nd place and 7th place teams are now separated by only 5 points.

With the pair of wins, Blinick now owns a 6-0-0 record, and has only given up 2 goals in his last 4 games. Blinick also has a stellar 1.11 GAA (2nd in the league) and .937 save percentage. The Jr. Flyers will now get set for 4 straight games against the Wolfpack, and the 6'0" netminder will look to maintain his perfect record.

Austin Kelly

Kelly and the Little Flyers only had 1 game this past week, but it was a game to remember for the captain. The Little Flyers beat the Rockets 7-3, and Kelly had 5 goals in the game. With the victory, the Little Flyers find themselves in a tie for 4th place in the South Conference.

Entering this past Wednesday's matchup, Kelly had only scored 4 goals all year and now has 23 total points on the season. Kelly's 6 PPG have him tied for 2nd most in the league with his teammate Tim Higginbotham, and Rockets forward Anthony Del Gaizo. Rockets forward Douglas Elgstam leads the league with 7 PPG. Kelly will look to build off of this performance when the Little Flyers head to Brewster this upcoming weekend to take on the Applecore.

Sean Kuhn

Kuhn led the way in the big week for the Boston Jr. Rangers. The Rangers won all 3 of their matchups this week, and the native of Glens Falls was in net for 2 of the victories. The six-point week moves the Rangers up into sole possession of 6th place in the North Conference.

With the 2 wins, Kuhn improves his record to 3-2-0 on the year, with a 2.11 GAA. The 6'3" netminder will look to stay hot this upcoming weekend when the Rangers travel to take on the Express and the Cyclones.

Boston Jr. Rangers - EHL Team of the Week

Following a disappointing finish at the Veteran's Day Showcase, the Boston Jr. Rangers responded in a big way by winning all 3 of their matchups this week.

The six-point week moves the Rangers up into sole possession of 6th place in the North Conference, 10 points back of the 1st place Bandits.

EHL HONORABLE MENTION

This week the EHL is recognizing Eduards Tralmaks (Boston Bandits) and the Philadelphia Revolution with Honorable Mentions for their performances.

Tralmaks is currently the leading scorer on the Bandits with 24 points, and after being held off the scoresheet on Friday against the Rangers, the Latvian forward responded in a big way against the Cyclones on Sunday. Tralmaks had 2 PPG and an assist, and the 2nd goal ended up be the GWG in a 4-2 victory. With the win the Bandits maintained their four-point lead in the North Conference.

It's hard not to recognize a team currently riding an 11-game winning streak (franchise record) and that's the stretch that the Revolution are riding right now, having not lost since the final day of the Columbus Day Showcase. The Revolution knocked off the Applecore 4-0 on Saturday, and then scored in the final second of overtime on Sunday to get by the Rockets 5-4. The Revolution will look to make it 12 in a row when they take on the Oilers in Norwalk, CT on Saturday night at 8:30pm
