Delabruere, Harwood and Happy Named 3 Stars of the Week

It was a busy week in the EHL, with every team in action prior to Thanksgiving. More games means more worthy candidates to choose from for this week's top stars.

This week, the EHL has selected Ross Delabruere (New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs), Gordy Harwood (Boston Bandits), and Marc Happy (Connecticut Oilers) as the EHL Stars of the Week.

Ross Delabruere

Delabruere and the Monarchs picked up 5 of a possible 6 points this week, after beating the Express and Warriors, and then falling to the Cyclones in overtime. The big week for New Hampshire gives them 24 points on the season, which is good for 4th place in the North Conference.

With the 7 points, Delabruere now has 15 total for the season and is riding a 5-game point streak. The Monarchs are off until they host the Bandits (12/5/15) and Express (12/6/15) at Tri-Town Ice Arena. We'll be watching to see if the Vermont native can extend his point streak.

Gordy Harwood

Harwood and the Bandits swept the Wolves this past weekend, by scores of 5-0 and 7-2. The successful weekend gives the Bandits 33 points on the season, as they continue to lock down the top spot in the North Conference.

With the pair of goals on Saturday, Harwood now ranks 4th on the team with 7 goals on the year. The Bandits are off until December 5th, when they take on the Monarchs in New Hampshire.

Marc Happy

Happy and the Oilers swept the first-place Revolution this past weekend, by scores of 3-2 (OT) and 7-4. The four-point weekend helps the Oilers stayed tied with the Wolfpack for 2nd place in the South Conference (30 points each).

Happy scored the GWG on Saturday night, and then followed it up with a huge day on Sunday to help the Oilers even their season series with the Revolution at 2-2. The Oilers have now won 5 in row, but also have picked up at least a point in 9 of their last 10 games. The Massachusetts native will look to keep the good stretch going when the Oilers host the Nighthawks the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Philadelphia Little Flyers - EHL Team of the Week

The Oilers aren't the only team from the South Conference riding a 5-game winning streak, as the Philadelphia Little Flyers have enjoyed a similar stretch while holding down 4th place in the standings.

The 4-point weekend keeps Philly right where they were when the weekend started as both the Oilers and the Wolfpack swept their two games as well. The South Conference is showing its depth as only 8 points separates the 2nd and 7th place teams.

EHL HONORABLE MENTION

This week the EHL is recognizing Joey Meehan (Northern Cyclones) and the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack with Honorable Mentions for their performances.

Meehan tallied 3 points and the GWG on Saturday night, as the Cyclones knocked off the Monarchs 6-5 in overtime. Just under a minute into the 3rd period, the Monarchs held a 4-2 lead, which quickly turned into a 5-4 lead for the Cyclones and then the game went to overtime. In overtime, Meehan created his own space and found the back of the net, to give his Cyclones a big two points on the road.

The Wolfpack bounced back in a big way this weekend, picking up a weekend sweep of the Jr. Flyers in West Chester, PA. Last week the Wolfpack lost back to back games in overtime, and this week found a way to take both games in hard-fought contests on the road. The 4 points keeps the Wolfpack tied with Oilers for 2nd in the South Conference.
