Sawden, Atherton, and Pietrowski Named 3 Stars of the Week

The EHL was back in full swing this past week, and as always, the league had plenty of worthy candidates to choose from for the weekly honors.

This week, the EHL has selected Machlan Sawden (Hartford Jr. Wolfpack), Drennen Atherton (Northern Cyclones), and Tyler Pietrowski (Philadelphia Little Flyers) as the EHL Stars of the Week.

Machlan Sawden

Sawden and the Wolfpack won both of their games this past weekend, knocking off the Rockets on Saturday, and then the Bobcats on Sunday. Sawden scored 3 goals combined between the two games, giving him 14 total on the season, which leads the team and ranks 8th overall in the EHL.

The four-point weekend, along with a pair of losses by the Philadelphia Revolution, puts the Wolfpack in a three-way tie for first place in the South Conference as well as the overall league standings. The Wolfpack own a record of 17-4-2 (36 points), and have been equally as good on the road as they have been home, with records of 10-2-2 on the road and 7-2-0 at home. Sawden will lead Hartford next weekend as they look to keep things going when they take on the Applecore and the Rockets.

Drennen Atherton

Atherton and the Cyclones won both of their games this past weekend, and the native of Florida was in net for each victory. The four-point weekend keeps the Cyclones in 3rd place in the North Conference, only 4 points behind the first-place Bandits.

Atherton is now 7-1-0 this season, and has a phenomenal 1.52 GAA. The Cyclones have won 4 of their lat 5, and will look to stay hot with games this week against the Express and the Monarchs, two teams that they are sandwiched between in the North Conference standings.

Tyler Pietrowski

Pietrowski put together a five-point weekend, which helped lead the way for a Little Flyers sweep of the Revolution. The Little Flyers have now won 7 in a row and sit 4 points back of the three-way tie for first place in the South Conference.

Pietrowski now has 24 points this season, which ranks him 3rd on the Little Flyers, behind Pavel Mikhasenok (32 Points) and Austin Kelly (31 Points). The Little Flyers have been soaring ever since they fell to the Warriors 1-0 at the Veteran's Day Showcase, and Pietrowski will look to lead to the way again this weekend, as his team plays two against the Bobcats.

Connecticut Oilers - EHL Team of the Week

This week's top team in the EHL is the Connecticut Oilers, who now own the longest active winning streak in the EHL at 8 games.

The Oilers had 19 different players record at least a point this past weekend, as well as both Michael Tilford and Mac Vail each picking up a win between the pipes.

EHL HONORABLE MENTION

This week's honorable mention for the Premier Division goes to the team with the second longest active winning streak in the EHL, the Philadelphia Little Flyers. The Little Flyers swept the Revolution this past weekend, and have now won 7 in a row and 10 of their last 11.

The Little Flyers had 20 different players record at least a point this weekend, and overall, the team tallied 30 total points combined between the two games.

EHL - VIDEO OF THE WEEK

New this week, the EHL will be selecting a top play and featuring it as the EHL Video of the Week. This week's top play comes from Chaise Howard, a forward for the Boston Bandits, who scored this highlight-reel goal on Saturday night against the Monarchs.
