Rodericks, Primeau, and Tilford Named 3 Stars of the Week

It was another busy weekend in the EHL with plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

This week, the EHL has selected Connor Rodericks (Walpole Express), Chayse Primeau (Philadelphia Revolution), and Michael Tilford (Connecticut Oilers) as the EHL Stars of the Week.

Team of the week honors are going to the Connecticut Oilers, and also make sure to check out the EHL Honorable Mention recipients, and the EHL Video of the Week.

***NEXT WEEK'S STARS OF THE WEEK WILL BE ANNOUNCED THE EVENING OF TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH, DUE TO A PAIR OF MAKE-UP GAMES.***

CONNOR RODERICKS

Rodericks and the Express won both of their games this weekend, knocking off the Cyclones on the road on Saturday, and then beating the Wizards at home on Sunday. The Massachusetts native was in net for each victory, helping to move the Express to just 2 points back of the Cyclones for 3rd place in the North Conference.

Rodericks 17 wins puts him in a tie for 2nd in the league in that category. The 6'2" netminder will look to keep things rolling this week for the Express, as they face-off with the Bandits on Thursday, and the Rangers on Friday.

Rodericks also earned Star of the Week honors for the weekend of October 16th through 18th.

CHAYSE PRIMEAU

Primeau and the Revolution swept the Jr. Flyers this weekend, picking up wins of 6-1 on Saturday and 3-1 on Sunday. The four-point weekend helps to tighten things up even more in the South Conference, as the Revolution are now in 3rd place, 1 point back of the Oilers for 2nd, and 3 points back of the Little Flyers for 1st.

The six-point weekend gives Primeau 42 points on the season, which leads the Revolution and ranks him 12th in the league in scoring. Primeau will look to lead the way in the final two games of the regular season, February 21st and 22nd against the Wolfpack.

MICHAEL TILFORD

Tilford and the Oilers swept their weekend series with the Little Flyers, picking up wins of 3-2 on Saturday and 4-2 on Sunday. The four-point weekend moves the Oilers within 2 points of the top spot in the South Conference, but it's worth noting that the Little Flyers do have a game in hand.

Tilford continues to lead the league in wins, with now 18 on the year, and has lowered his GAA to 3.02. The biggest stat for the Michigan native is his minutes played, as he has racked up over 1472 minutes in net, which ranks him 4th in the league. The Oilers will continue to lean on Tilford down the stretch as they face-off with the Bobcats twice, and then one matchup each against the Rockets and the Applecore.

Tilford also made his NCAA commitment a few weeks ago, as he'll be playing for Nazareth College in the Fall of 2016.

EHL TEAM OF THE WEEK

This week's top team in the EHL is the Connecticut Oilers, following a weekend sweep of the Little Flyers in Aston, PA.

The Oilers were led by one of this week's Stars of the Week, Michael Tilford, who held the Little Flyers high-powered offense in check to just a pair of goals each game.

The four-point weekend moves the Oilers within 2 points of the top spot in the South Conference with 5 games left in the regular season.

EHL HONORABLE MENTION

This week the EHL is handing out EHL Honorable Mentions to Cayden Primeau (Philadelphia Revolution), Douglas Elgstam (New Jersey Rockets), and Philip Elgstam (New Jersey Rockets).

Primeau was in net for the Revolution on Saturday and Sunday, stopping 71 of the 73 shots he faced. The 16-year-old netminder has now won 4 in a row, while stopping 150 of 154 shots in those games.

The Elgstam brothers led the way for the Rockets this weekend, as they swept the Applecore by scores of 7-5 and 7-2. The older brother, Douglas (1995), scored a pair of goals and dished out 5 assists over the weekend.

The younger brother, Phillip (1998), recorded his first EHL hat-trick on Saturday and then found the back of the net one more time on Sunday. Phillip's hat-trick is featured below in the Video of the Week section.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

This week's Video of the Week features Philip Elgstam's first career EHL hat-trick, as the Rockets knocked off the Applecore by the score of 7-5 on Saturday.
