Stirling Wins COY Honors

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League is pleased to announce Todd Stirling as this season's Coach of the Year in the EHL Division. Stirling led the Boston Bandits to a record of 30-7-4, which was good for 64 points and the regular season title in the North Conference. This year's excellent season comes on the heels of an average 2014-15 campaign that ended with Stirling saying, "I will fix this."

"Todd stuck to his word that's for sure," said Mark Kumpel, Director of Hockey Operations for the Eastern Hockey League. "To rack up 22 more points this season shows just how hard Todd worked, and I am glad to see his efforts have been recognized by the other coaches."

While Kumpel speaks from an "outsiders perspective," Ben Ewing is the owner of the Bandits, and saw Todd's hardwork in person, each and every day.

"Todd works tirelessly both on and off the ice," said Ewing. "He insures the best results for every one of his players from the moment they arrive until the player accepts his college commitment."

The Bandits have six NCAA Commitments so far this season, and 32 total over the last three seasons in the EHL. Stirling is the leader behind these players reaching their goal to play college hockey, and he feels extremely honored with his award.

"I am humbled by this award and very much appreciate the consideration from my fellow coaches," said Stirling. "The Premier level boasts a tremendous coaching staff, so to be given this award is very special."
