Kuziak, Huxen, and Rogers Named 3 Stars of the Week

BOSTON, MA -- The final week of prep before the Veteran's Day Showcase was filled with a season-high number of games in the EHL Division. With all 17 teams in action, there were plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

We're pleased to announce that Dom Kuziak (Vermont Lumberjacks), Tim Huxen (New Jersey Rockets), and Nate Rogers (Philadelphia Little Flyers) have been named the EHL Stars of the Week.

Also, this week's EHL Team of the Week is the Boston Bandits, with Honorable Mentions going out to the entire Mid-Atlantic Division.

The Mid-Atlantic Division consists of the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Philadelphia Revolution, Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, and New Jersey Rockets.

DOM KUZIAK

Kuziak and the Lumberjacks swept their weekend home-and-home series with the New England Wolves, improving their record to 9-6-2 on the season (20 points). The Lumberjacks currently sit just two points back of the Northern Cyclones for 2nd place in the New England Division, and four points back of the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs for 1st place.

  • Saturday, November 5th ::: Lumberjacks 7 - Wolves 2 ::: (3g, 2a, 5p)
  • Sunday, November 6th ::: Lumberjacks 5 - Wolves 1 ::: (1g, 1a, 2p)

Kuziak's seven-point weekend helped him take over the league lead for points scored in the Premier Division. The '96 forward is in his 2nd season with the Lumberjacks and has been tearing things up as of late, with eleven points in his last three games, and 16 points in his last six games. Kuziak will look to continue to lead the charge when the Lumberjacks face-off against the Connecticut Oilers (Sunday) and the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack (Monday) at this weekend's showcase.

TIM HUXEN

Huxen and the Rockets swept their weekend series with the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, improving their record to 7-9-0 on the season (14 points).

  • Saturday, November 5th ::: Rockets 4 - Wolfpack 0 ::: (22 saves)
  • Sunday, November 6th ::: Rockets 3 - Wolfpack 2 ::: (37 saves)

Huxen picked up his 2nd and 3rd wins of the season this weekend, improving his record to 3-2-0 to go along with a 2.94 GAA and 1 shutout. The native of Bakersfield, California will look to continue to anchor the Rockets in a full week that includes regular season games against the Philadelphia Little Flyers (Wednesday) and the New England Wolves (Sunday), as well as showcase games against the Walpole Express (Monday) and East Coast Wizards (Tuesday).

NATE ROGERS

Rogers and the Little Flyers swept their weekend series with the Connecticut Nighthawks, improving their record to 16-0-1 on the season (33 points). The pair of victories also extend Philadelphia's winning streak up to 16 games and point streak up to 17 games.

  • Saturday, November 5th ::: Little Flyers 6 - Nighthawks 2 ::: (2g, 1a, 3p)
  • Sunday, November 6th ::: Little Flyers 5 - Nighthawks 0 ::: (0g, 3a, 3p)

Rogers' six-point weekend nearly doubled his season total, as the native of Texas now has seven goals and seven assists in 15 games this year. The '96 forward will look to continue to make an impact this week as the Little Flyers chase history with a regular season game against the New Jersey Rockets on Wednesday, and showcase games against the East Coast Wizards (Monday) and Valley Jr. Warriors (Tuesday).

EHL Team of the Week

This week's EHL Team of the Week is the Boston Bandits.

Just when it looked like things were starting to really tighten up in the Boston Division, the Bandits rattle off three straight wins.

  • Wednesday, November 2nd ::: Bandits 5 - Cyclones 4
  • Friday, November 4th ::: Bandits 2 - Express 1
  • Sunday, November 6th ::: Bandits 3 - Warriors 1

While there are teams with games in hand, the Bandits currently hold a seven-point lead in the division. This week's Bandits schedule features four games, two regular season matchups and two showcase matchups.

The key for the Bandits will be to look at their week one game at a time, starting off with the regular season games against the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs and New York Applecore on Wednesday and Friday respectively. The Bandits then get Saturday and Sunday off, before showcase games on Monday and Tuesday against the Connecticut Oilers and New York Applecore.

Honorable Mention

This week's Honorable Mention awards are going out to the entire Mid-Atlantic Division.

  • Philadelphia Little Flyers
  • Philadelphia Revolution
  • Philadelphia Jr. Flyers
  • New Jersey Rockets

Arguably the best division of our the four put together a combined record of 7-0-0 this past weekend, with the Jr. Flyers second game on Sunday against the Applecore having to be postponed due to a power outage.

From top to bottom the Mid-Atlantic Division is as deep as there is in the EHL, especially considering the combined score from this past weekend's seven victories was 37-9.

This past week was another strong one for the East Coast Wizards, going 2-0-1 and picking 5 of a possible 6 points. In Saturday night's victory over the Boston Jr. Rangers, Matt Letmanski kicked off the scoring with this bar-down snipe in the 1st period. #EHLTV #EasternHockey

After a hard-fought 2-1 loss to the Boston Bandits on Friday, the Walpole Express bounced back with a big 3-2 win over the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs on Saturday. Chris Peters put together an incredible individual effort to open up the scoring in Hooksett. #EHLTV #EasternHockey
