Wolfpack Forward Set to Join Blue Devils in the Fall of 2017

CROMWELL, CT -- Colin Valentine, a forward for the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, has committed to SUNY Fredonia for the Fall of 2017. In his second season in the EHL, the New Jersey native has 11 points in his first 17 games.

"We have done a lot of work with the Fredonia coaching staff and they are top notch," said Wolfpack head coach Chris Cerrella. "They do a fantastic job recruiting our players, our alumni are having a great experience there, and everyone is doing their jobs on the ice and in the classroom. Vally {Valentine} is gonna fit right in with their philosophy of speed and hard work. He brings jam every day to games and practices, and he is going to have a great career on and off the ice for the Blue Devils. He is one of those kids you don't want to see leave, but know he will make you proud at the next level. I'm very excited for Colin and his family,"

The '96 forward has been around junior hockey for a while, joining the Wolfpack after spending some time with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers' U18 team. Last season, Valentine tallied 21 points in 39 total games for Hartford, three of which came in the playoffs. Valentine is on pace to blow past those numbers this season, and is excited about his college hockey future.

"I am very excited about the opportunity I have at SUNY Fredonia, both on the ice and in the classroom," said Valentine. "It has always been a dream to play college hockey, and now I get to do it at a place with a great tradition, great facilities, and a great coaching staff. I would like to thank Coach Cerrella for getting me to the next level and working hard to find the right fit for me. Coming here last season to play for him was obviously the best thing I could have done for the college hockey process. I would like to send out a special thank you to my family, as they have supported me through this journey every step of the way and without that support it would have been hard to make my dream come true. I cannot wait to get on Fredonia's campus next season."

Valentine and the Wolfpack are off through the Thanksgiving holiday, and then host the the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Black Friday, and Saturday the 26th.
