FORWARDS OF THE MONTH

Richie McCartney led the way for the Philadelphia Revolution as they went 6-3-0 in the month of January. The '96 forward from Pennsylvania scored eight goals and dished out 11 assists, and those totals include the game-winner against the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack on January 28th. McCartney heads into February ranked 2nd in the league in scoring with 55 points in 36 games this season.

On the 19U Elite side, Brian Smith tore it up in January, helping the Valley Jr. Warriors to a 6-1-1 record in eight games. Smith tallied 22 total points, split evenly with 11 goals and 11 assists. The '97 native of Massachusetts has only been held off the scoresheet five times this season. With 56 points, Smith begins February ranked 4th in the Elite Division in scoring.

DEFENSEMEN OF THE MONTH

Carabia was the top defenseman in the Premier Division last month, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists in nine games. The '96 defenseman from Florida scored the game-winning goals against the Connecticut Oilers (January 15th) and the Northern Cyclones (January 25th). Through 34 games Carabia has 32 points, and he'll look to continue to lead his team with 12 games on the schedule in February.

For the 19U Elite Division, Colin Roberts led the way from the point. In six games last month, Roberts tallied a pair of goals and dished out five assists. The '99 defenseman is putting together a really solid year for the 1st place Revolution, with 20 points in the first 31 games. Philadelphia begins February with a five-point lead over the Jr. Flyers for 1st place in the South Conference.

GOALIES OF THE MONTH

Cody Murch was arguably the best player in the entire Eastern Hockey League during the month of January. Murch won six games between the pipes, as his team went 9-0-1 in ten contests. The '97 goaltender from North Carolina only gave up five total goals in the month, while improving his season record up to 16-4-2. While increasing his shutout total for the season up to six, Murch also lowered his GAA to 1.60 to go along with a .943 save percentage.

Flip over to the 19U Elite Division, and Brendan Boncore is the Goaltender of the Month once again. Boncore only had three starts in five games, but he took advantage, stopping 88 of the 90 shots he faced. With another solid month in the books, the '97 netminder from Michigan now owns a record of 15-5-0 to go along with a 1.75 GAA and .925 save percentage.
