Wolfpack Defenseman Joining Group of Teammates this Fall

CROMWELL, CT -- Connor Devereux, a defenseman for the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, has committed to Bryn Athyn College for the Fall of 2017. Devereux is the 3rd member of the Wolfpack to commit to Bryn Athyn this season, joining Jimmy Lockamyeir and Nick Malvasi.

"Connor is a smooth skating defenseman with a good stick, and I think he will help the Lions on the blue line next season," said Wolfpack head coach Chris Cerrella. "He will need to ramp it up this off season in the weight room and get bigger, stronger and faster, and if he does that, he is going to be a very effective Division III college hockey player as a freshman. This is a great fit for both Connor and Bryn Athyn and I am excited to see where the program is at four years from now when he is a senior. It’s been a great run with Connor and I wish him and his family the best of luck in the future."

Through his first 35 games this season with the Wolfpack, Devereux has a goal and five assists to his name. The '96 defenseman is looking forward to finishing the season in strong fashion, and then kicking off his collegiate career this Fall.

"I am excited to start my career at Bryn Athyn and I can’t thank my friends and family enough for riding along with me on this path to college," said Devereux. "I want to thank Coach Cerrella and the whole Wolfpack organization for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank Coach Burke for giving me the opportunity of being part of a school that has such great academic and athletic facilities and I cannot wait to see where college takes me in the future."

Devereux and the Wolfpack finish off the regular season this weekend with a pair of road games against the Philadelphia Revolution. If the Wolfpack can secure 3 of the 4 possible points, they will surpass the Connecticut Oilers in the Central Division standings, and clinch the #2 seed in the South Conference playoffs.
