Little Flyers and Jr. Flyers Begin Championship Series

ASTON, PA -- The day has finally arrived, as the Philadelphia Little Flyers and Philadelphia Jr. Flyers face-off in Game 1 of the #EHLfinals this afternoon at 3:30pm (Ice Works Complex). Both teams enter the series fresh off sweeps over their respective opponents in the Semi-Finals. In five regular season matchups the Little Flyers captured the season series with a record of 3-1-1 against the Jr. Flyers.

EHL FINALS - GAME 1

1st Period

It took the Jr. Flyers just over three and a half minutes to open the scoring, as Tyler Glennon tipped home a shot from Sean Castagna, giving his team the early 1-0 lead. From there, each team cranked up the pressure, but no other scoring took place in the 1st period.

End of the 1st period -- Jr. Flyers lead 1-0 -- Little Flyers lead shots 12-8

2nd Period

Each team continue to create offensive chances in the 2nd period, but neither team could add to the scoring. Both teams killed off a power-play chance against, setting up a great final frame.

End of the 2nd period -- Jr. Flyers lead 1-0 -- Little Flyers lead shots 23-19

3rd period

Trevor Coykendall banged home a rebound and tied the hockey game just over two minutes into the 3rd period. Following the goal, both teams created chances, but the score remained locked.

End of the 3rd period -- Score tied 1-1 -- Little Flyers lead shots 36-22

Overtime

Alex Peterson scores in overtime and the Little Flyers take Game 1 of the #EHLfinals.

End of the Game -- Little Flyers Win 2-1 -- Little Flyers outshot Jr. Flyers 38-27
