Vermont Gives Back to the Community

BRADFORD, VT -- In what has become the norm, the Vermont Lumberjacks continue to lead the way in the area of community service and giving back to charity. This year, both Lumberjacks' EHL and EHLP teams once again took part in the Spencer Rocke Memorial Night held at Bear Ridge Speedway. The Lumberjacks helped make 48 lucky 2017 Bear Ridge Speedway active Kids Club members very happy as their number was drawn for one of the bikes donated by drivers, fans, and employees.

"Spencer Rocke was a tremendous young man, devoted husband, and even a better father, when he lost his life in a snowmobile accident," said Lumberjacks owner Stephen Lary. "The community continues to keep his memory alive some 25 years after his accident. I think that speaks for itself. The Lumberjacks look for the same character that Spencer possessed when recruiting players for our teams. Spencer optimized the character the Lumberjacks players are known for. It was an honor to sponsor his Memorial Race this year."

Below you'll find pictures from the event, including the special car that Lary competed with in the race.
