McDonald, Forcier, and Paglucca Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Despite a fewer number of games this past week in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), there was still plenty of great action that took place. There were 12 total teams that hit the ice, bringing with them plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Kyle McDonald (Vermont Lumberjacks), Aleck Forcier (New England Wolves), and Michael Paglucca (New Hampshire Avalanche) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

Things crank back up this week with 19 games on the schedule from Tuesday through Sunday. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, October 30th at 4:00pm. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Kyle McDonald (Vermont Lumberjacks)

McDonald and the Lumberjacks only had 1 game this past week, but they took care of business in a 7-0 shutout victory over the New England Wolves. The '97 from South Burlington, VT racked up a hat-trick in the win, his 2nd of the season. Through the first 12 games of the year, McDonald now has 8 goals and 9 assists to his name. The talented forward will look to continue to lead the way as Vermont hits the road to face-off with the East Coast Wizards tomorrow afternoon in Bedford, MA.

DEFENSEMAN - Aleck Forcier (New England Wolves)

On the blue line, Forcier stepped up for his team on Sunday against the Valley Jr. Warriors. While the Wolves first game of the weekend was disappointing, they salvaged a weekend split with an 8-5 win to close out the weekend. The '98 scored a pair of goals and dished out 3 assists in the contest. Forcier's 2nd goal of the game came about halfway through the final frame, and held up as the game-winner for his team. The Wolves will lean on Forcier again this week, as they hit the ice with the New Hampshire Avalanche on Wednesday and then the Walpole Express on Saturday and Sunday.

GOALTENDER - Michael Paglucca (New Hampshire Avalanche)

Paglucca and the Avalanche bounced back with a pair of victories this past weekend. The 6'4 netminder got the nod on Sunday against the Boston Jr. Rangers, and stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced in a 3-1 win. The solid performance for Paglucca came on the heels of Saturday's All-Star Game where he combined with Nolan Egbert (Rangers) to stop 56 shots put on net by the UMass Boston Beacons. Paglucca is now 6-2-0 on the season with a 1.07 GAA and 2 shutouts. The Avalanche have a full week of games ahead of them as they face-off with the New England Wolves on Wednesday, the Connecticut Oilers on Saturday, and the Connecticut RoughRiders on Sunday.

Honorable Mentions - Harlow and Ovchinnikov

For this week's honorable mentions, the EHL would like to recognize a pair solid offensive performances.

Starting with Blake Harlow of the New England Wolves, who matched Aleck Forcier with 5 points of his own on Sunday against the Valley Jr. Warriors. Harlow is averaging 1 point per game so far this season.

Staying in the North Conference, Daniil Ovchinnikov tallied both goals in 2-1 overtime victory against the Walpole Express on Wednesday. The Russian forward now has 12 points in 12 games so far this year, and he also leads the league with 4 game-winning tallies.
