Starzi, Bermingham, and Lutz Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) cranked back into full gear this past week, with 19 total games over a 7-day stretch. With 15 of the 16 total teams in action, there were plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Anthony Starzi (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights), Mike Bermingham (East Coast Wizards), and Korbinian Lutz (East Coast Wizards) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

Another big slate of matchups lies ahead for the EHL this week, with 17 games on the schedule from Thursday to Sunday. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released on Monday, November 6th at 4:00pm. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Anthony Starzi (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights)

Starzi and the Knights won 3 of their 4 games this past week, improving their record up to 7-10-0 for the season. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton currently owns 14 total points which places them 3rd in the Mid-Atlantic Division, and in a tie for 5th overall in the South Conference. Starzi was the offensive leader this past week for the Knights, tallying 12 total points in the 4 games. Paired up with EHL All-Star Jake Fuss, Starzi scored 7 goals while dishing out 5 assists, and his stellar week also included the overtime winner against the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers on Sunday. The '98 forward will look to keep the momentum rolling as the Knights host the Valley Jr. Warriors on Saturday and the New Hampshire Avalanche on Sunday.

DEFENSEMAN - Mike Bermingham (East Coast Wizards)

Just like Starzi and the Knights, Bermingham and the Wizards enjoyed a big week that has them currently in the middle of a 3-game winning streak. The '99 defenseman tallied a pair of points against the Vermont Lumberjacks on Tuesday as well as in both matchups with the Total Athletics Seahawks on Friday and Saturday. By adding a goal and 5 assists to his season totals, Bermingham now has 9 points in his first 15 EHL games. The young defenseman will look to stay hot as the Wizards get set for a big home-and-home series this weekend against the Boston Jr. Rangers.

GOALTENDER - Korbinian Lutz (East Coast Wizards)

While Bermingham held things down on the blue line, Lutz continues to stand tall between the pipes for the Wizards. Since losing his first EHL start, the German netminder is a perfect 6-0-0 and has lowered his GAA down to a stellar 1.95. This past week alone, Lutz went a perfect 3-0-0, while registering his 2nd shutout of the season. The '98 has been the backbone behind the Wizards turnaround as since the beginning of October, the team has gone 8-2-0 and Lutz has been in net for 6 of those victories.

HONORABLE MENTIONS - Fuss, Panzeca, Peters, and Slear

This week, the EHL is recognizing a handful of honorable mentions, as this group of players all turned in "star-worthy" performances.

Alongside Anthony Starzi, Jake Fuss (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights) added 5 goals and 3 assists to his team-leading point total. The '98 forward now has 26 points in the first 17 games of the season.

Up front for the Wizards, Devin Panzeca (East Coast Wizards) continues to impress since joining the team on October 9th. The '97 forward put together a 7-point week, which increases his total up 16 points in his first 8 games.

Chris Peters crossed the 100-point mark this past week, while tallying 9 points in 3 games for the Walpole Express. Peters now leads the league with 22 assists so far this season.

Jarrett Slear and the New Hampshire Avalanche won all 3 of their games this past week, improving their record up to 14-2-1 for the season. Slear had 5 goals and 5 assists over the course of the week for his team.
