LeClair, Forcier, and Henson Earn EHL Weekly Honors

BOSTON, MA -- Another week in the books, as the past 7 days featured 17 games across the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). With 15 of the 16 teams in action, there were plenty of worthy candidates for our weekly honors.

The EHL is pleased to announce that Calvin LeClair (New Hampshire Avalanche), Aleck Forcier (New England Wolves), and Alex Henson (Philadelphia Little Flyers) have been named the TSR Hockey Stars of the Week.

The action continues on Tuesday and runs through the weekend, as the EHL gets set for the final event of the 2017-18 EHL Showcase Series. The week ahead features a total of 22 total games, including 16 at Ice Line in West Chester, PA. The next set of TSR Hockey Stars of the Week will be released following the showcase on Monday, January 22nd. Catch the #Eshow action all season long on HockeyTV.

FORWARD - Calvin LeClair (New Hampshire Avalanche)

LeClair and the Avalanche picked up a pair of victories this past week, over 2 teams ranked in the top-five in the EHL. The '98 forward was the offensive catalyst for his team, registering 7 total points in the 2 games. The native of Haverford, PA began the weekend with a pair of goals and 3 assists in a 5-4 victory over the Walpole Express on Friday, and then wrapped things up with a pair of assists in today's 5-1 win against the Boston Jr. Rangers. The Avalanche continue to sit at the top of the North Conference with 57 points, and they have a big week ahead of them with games against the Vermont LumberjacksConnecticut Oilers, and New York Bobcats Royals.

DEFENSEMAN - Aleck Forcier (New England Wolves)

Forcier and the Wolves had a perfect weekend in Pennsylvania, as they left the state with wins over the Philadelphia Little Flyers and Philadelphia Jr. Flyers. With the pair of victories the Wolves improve their record up to 11-22-2 for the season, and move into a tie with the Valley Jr. Warriors for the 6th and final playoff spot in the North Conference. While Forcier was held off the scoresheet on Sunday against the Jr. Flyers, the native of Quebec definitely wasn't kept in check on Saturday. Forcier dished out a pair of assists in regulation and then buried the game-winner in overtime, giving his team the 3-2 win at Ice Works Complex. This is Forcier's 2nd EHL honor of the season (TSR Hockey Stars of the Week #7), and he'll look to keep the momentum rolling against the New York Bobcats Royals and Connecticut Oilers at this weekend's showcase.

GOALTENDER - Alex Henson (Philadelphia Little Flyers)

The awards keep piling up for Henson, as the 2000-born netminder now has his first weekly honor of the season. The back-to-back reigning goaltender of the month (November 2017 - December 2017) stopped a total of 52 out of the 53 shots he faced, and picked up wins of over the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Vermont Lumberjacks. Since joining the Little Flyers in mid-October, Henson is now a stellar 10-1-0 with a 1.82 GAA and 3 shutouts. The native of Iowa has turned into a top candidate for this season's EHL Rookie of the Year award, and will look to stay hot with 4 games on the schedule this week for the Little Flyers.

HONORABLE MENTIONS - Mattone, Parsons, and Panzeca

This week, the EHL would like to recognize three players with honorable mentions.

While Aleck Forcier provided the offense for his team against the Philadelphia Little FlyersChris Mattone was the anchor for the New England Wolves between the pipes. The '97 netminder turned away 37 of the 39 shots he faced on Saturday.

Mitchell Parsons and the Connecticut RoughRiders won all 3 of their games this past week, increasing their lead up to 12 points in the Central Division standings. The '97 forward racked up 4 goals and 3 assists in the 3 contests.

Last, but not least, Devin Panzeca and the East Coast Wizards split their 2 matchups. The '97 continued to light it up, with 5 goals and an assist in the 2 games. The native of Illinois now has 52 points in 27 games with the Wizards, and has scored at least 1 goal in the past 6 games.
