Express All-Star Defenseman Set to Join the Beavers this Fall

WALPOLE, MA -- Ryan Campbell, a defenseman for the Walpole Express, has committed to Babson College for the Fall of 2018. In his first season of junior hockey, the '99 has racked up 21 points in 36 games to date.

“Ryan came to us via Catholic Conference powerhouse BC High School," said Express head coach and general manager Jon Lounsbury. "His transition to the junior game was seamless and he has been great for us all year. Ryan has certainly exceeded expectations for us this season and he has been a big part of our success to this point. We are very excited for him to be heading to such a great program."

Despite being one of the youngest defenseman in the league, Campbell joined his teammate Chris Peters on this year's EHL All-Star Team that took on UMass Boston back in October. The experience gained from that game, along with soon to be a full season of junior hockey, has the Massachusetts native prepped and ready for college hockey. Campbell took some time to reflect on his decision and thank those that have helped him along the way.

“I'm extremely excited to be heading to Babson in the Fall. I'm beyond grateful for the support I've received from my family, friends, and coaches along the way. A special thanks to BC High and the Walpole Express for all of their efforts in this process," said Campbell.
