Warriors All-Star Forward Heading to the MASCAC this Fall

HAVERHILL, MA -- Jimmy Pelton, a forward for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to the UMass Dartmouth for the Fall of 2018. The '97 just finished his second season in the EHL, and the Warriors' captain racked up 77 career points during that time.

“He’s a good two-way player, and he has that ability to find the net,” said Warriors head coach and general manager Andy Heinze. “He’s a two-year player for us and I think he came a long way in those two years both as a player and a person, developing his speed and his quickness. He has improved upon that to the point where I feel he’s ready to play college hockey.”

Pelton was incredibly consistent during his time in the EHL, tallying 19 goals and 20 assists last year, followed up by 18 goals and 20 assists this year. In total, Pelton had five career game-winning goals in the EHL, and it was no surprise when he was selected as the Warriors' representative when Team EHL took on the UMass Boston Beacons back in October. The native of Syracuse, NY took some time to reflect and give his thanks to all those who helped him.

“My first year allowed me to adjust to a faster style of play," said Pelton. "When I returned for a second year, I stepped into a leadership role, which helped me mature as a player and a person. I owe a lot to the coaching staff and my teammates for helping me get to where I am. I'm also thankful for the support of my parents and friends throughout my time playing junior hockey.”
