Warriors Forward Set to Join Penmen this Fall

HAVERHILL, MA -- Charlie Davis, a forward for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 just finished his first season in the EHL, and he tallied 27 points in 41 total games.

“He wasn’t one-dimensional, which is nice,” said Warriors head coach and general manager Andy Heinze. “He’s an experienced kid and I think he brought some leadership to the table as well. I think he also helped us solidify being a legitimate two-line team and not relying on one or two guys to produce for us. He gave us more balance.”

Davis joins a long list of individuals that have moved on to join the Penmen, as over 15 EHL players have made their commitments to Southern New Hampshire since the league was formed back in 2013. The native of Milton, MA took some time to reflect and look back at the journey.

“As a '97 and veteran of junior hockey, Coach Heinze gave me a bigger role on the team and I played a lot of minutes," said Davis. "That helped me improve as a player and a student of the game. My coaches pushed me to come out of my comfort zone and expand my overall game. That is what helped me get to where I am today. I’m also thankful for my parents and teammates who supported me through my process of playing junior hockey. I couldn’t have done without them."
