Little Flyers Forward Joins Growing List of Future Rams

ASTON, PA -- Ricky Walsh, a forward for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Framingham State University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 just finished his second junior season with the Little Flyers, and his two-year totals in the EHL add up to 23 points in 73 career games.

"We’re very proud of Rick on his commitment to Framingham State,” said Little Flyers head coach and general manager George Lewis. “We are happy for him that he will get to continue to play with his friend and teammate Trevor Lewandoski. Rick has been a special two-year guy for us; he’s really grown as a young man and a player in his time here. You couldn’t ask for a better person than Rick and his hard work and perseverance have really paid off for him on the ice. We’ll miss Rick very much, but we’re excited to continue to watch him grow at the next level. This is a well-deserved commitment and Coach Angers’ staff will be happy to get Rick on campus in the Fall.”

As Lewis mentioned, Walsh will be reunited with Trevor Lewandoski when he arrives at Framingham State, as the Little Flyers defenseman also recently committed to join the Rams this Fall. While the season ended sooner than Walsh and the Little Flyers had hoped, the native of Pennsylvania is beyond thankful for all of his time in the EHL.

"I am very excited to further my education and hockey career at Framingham State University," said Walsh. "I would like to thank Coach Angers and Coach Bailey for the incredible opportunity. I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done to get to where I am today; this wouldn’t have been possible without them. I would also like to thank all the coaches I’ve had throughout the years, but a special thank you to Coach Russo, Coach Lewis, Coach Narrigan and Coach Catron for all the time and effort they have put into me and my teammates to push us to the next level. Lastly I would like to thank the Giacobbo family for the incredible opportunity the Little Flyers organization has given me; the past five seasons have been some I will never forget. I look forward to next four years of being a student athlete at Framingham State."
