RoughRiders Defenseman Set to Join Penmen this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Alex Ring, a defenseman for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University for the Fall of 2018. The '98 from Salem, NH played in 51 of 52 total games for the RoughRiders this season, and racked up 27 points from the blue line.

"Alex was a consistent staple on defense for us this season," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He was technically efficient playing a deliberate style of hockey that made it difficult for opposing forwards on their attack. He had a great first pass on our attack and was able to find our forwards in all zones assisting us in our goal scoring output this season.”

Ring joins a strong group of EHL players that have moved on to Southern New Hampshire, as just under 20 alums have made their commitment to the Penmen since the league was formed back in 2013. Also dating back to the formation of the EHL, the league has had a least three commitments per season to SNHU. While the 2017-18 season ended sooner than Ring and RoughRiders had hoped, they can still be very proud of their Central Division Regular Season Championship.
