Warriors Forward Adds His Name to List of Future Hawks

HAVERHILL, MA -- Cooper Fowler, a forward for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to Becker College for the Fall of 2018. The '97 played the past two seasons in the Warriors program, spending time at both the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) levels. This past season in particular, Fowler racked up 17 points in 39 games in the EHL.

"He has a really good understanding of the game, and he plays well in all three zones,” said Warriors head coach and general manager Andy Heinze. “Cooper understands his responsibility. I think really the best thing about him is that he’s a hard-working kid, but he also knows where his assets as a player are."

Two seasons ago (2016-17 campaign), Fowler went back and forth between the EHL and the EHLP. That year, the native of Germany racked up four points in 17 EHL games, and 33 points in 27 EHLP games. The experienced gained from that year, helped push Fowler that much harder to get himself prepared for the 2017-18 season. It's been a great journey for the forward, and now he's set and ready for college hockey.

"I think the EHL was a difficult league for me to play in," said Fowler. "With a European playing style, this was definitely not an easy road for me. But with great coaches that have great connections, I was able to find a school to play for even with my different playing style. If it wasn’t for my friends and family, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also want to give a special thanks to my parents."
