Oilers Captain Set to Join Leopards this Fall

HAMDEN, CT -- Tyler Lapshanski, a defenseman for the Connecticut Oilers, has committed to the Wentworth Institute of Technology for the Fall of 2018. This was Lapshanski's second season in the league, and his first full year at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level.

Prior to this season, the native of Belvidere, NJ spent the majority of the 2016-17 campaign with the Boston Bandits at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level. Just before the USA Hockey roster freeze in early February, the '97 earned a call-up through the postseason with the Bandits' EHL team.

At the beginning of the 2017-18 season, Lapshanski took on the role of Captain for the Oilers. In total, Lapshanski tallied 19 points in 69 career EHL games, and 17 points in 31 career EHLP games. The veteran defenseman developed well during his time in the league, and is now set and ready for college hockey.
