Warriors Defenseman Set to Join Eagles this Fall

HAVERHILL, MA -- Harrison Sheldon, a defenseman for the Valley Jr. Warriors, has committed to Post University for the Fall of 2018. The '97 just finished his first season at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level, after spending the 2016-17 campaign with the Walpole Express at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level. The native of Massachusetts tallied 17 points in 41 games in the EHLP, and then 4 points in 35 games in the EHL.

"We were down a goal late in Sheldon's first game with us, and we told the defensemen to jump up in the play if you had an opportunity. He did just that and found the back of the net. I think Sheldon adds a lot as far as quickness from the blue line," said Warriors head coach and general manager Andy Heinze.

As Heinze mentioned, Sheldon scored in his very first game with the Warriors, and played a key role for the team down the stretch. A lot of credit should be given to how quickly the veteran defenseman adapted to the Warriors system. Sheldon is very thankful for having played in the EHL, and he took some time to look back.

"After spending half a season with the Warriors and two full seasons in the EHL, I matured significantly not only as a hockey player, but also as a person," said Sheldon. "The skill development and the time I spent on the ice over the last two years was vital to my success. I'd like to thank my teammates as well as my former coaches as they also played a key role in my success. Finally, I'd like to thank my family for all their support in helping me achieve this. I'm very excited for my future at Post University."
