Little Flyers Forward Set to Join Lions this Fall

ASTON, PA -- Eric Higgins, a forward for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, has committed to Bryn Athyn College for the Fall of 2018. The '97 joined the Little Flyers in November, and tallied an even 11 goals and 11 assists in 36 total games.

"We're very proud of Eric on his commitment to Bryn Athyn,” said Little Flyers head coach and general manager George Lewis. “After speaking with Coach Andrew Burke, they are very excited about Eric and we think this is a great fit for both parties. Higgs is a guy who can play in any situation and already has NCAA experience. He will do an excellent job next season. We’ll miss Higgs on and off the ice; he brought so much to our team. Having a guy come from the NCAA ranks is very unique and a great experience for our guys to learn from. He will be extremely difficult to replace, but we wish him luck and know he’ll continue to do a great job."

As Lewis mentioned, Higgins brought NCAA playing experience with him, as he spent the 2016-17 season at Lebanon Valley College. All in all, the time spent playing college hockey as well as the time from this past season with the Little Flyers, has Higgins ready to make an immediate impact at Bryn Athyn. The native of Richboro, PA took some time to reflect and give his thanks.

"First off, I’d like to thank Coach George Lewis and the Giacobbos for allowing me to join the Little Flyers this year," said Higgins. "I also want to say thank you to all of my teammates for making me grow as a player, and for making this season one to remember. Finally, I’d like to thank Coach Burke and Coach Seravalli at Bryn Athyn for showing a persistent interest in me. I am excited about this new opportunity to prove myself and look forward to joining the Lions in the Fall."
