RoughRiders Captain Set to Join Valiants this Fall

NORWALK, CT -- Alex Rowella, a forward for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Manhattanville College for the the Fall of 2018. In three seasons with the RoughRiders, the '97 racked up 121 points in 136 career games in the EHL.

"Alex possesses great hockey vision and creativity and was potent on the power-play and penalty kill," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "He recognized scoring chances and was quick to act on those opportunities. He was that all-around forward that players hated to play against due to his skill level and the effectiveness of his agitation. A true leader on and off the ice, Alex was our team captain this past season and his professionalism and leadership skills will transition perfectly to the collegiate locker room at Manhattanville next year.”

When Rowella arrives at Manhattanville, he will quickly be joined by a former teammate of his in Keegan Davis. Davis spent the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons with RoughRiders, and just finished his freshmen campaign at Manhattanville. The Valiants have brought in eight players from the EHL since the league was formed back in 2013, and that includes at least one new player in each of the five seasons. Manhattanville plays out of the competitive United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC), that includes some of the top teams in all of Division III NCAA hockey.
