Wizards Goaltender Set to Join Penmen this Fall

BEDFORD, MA -- Alec Marshall, a goaltender for the East Coast Wizards, has committed to Southern New Hampshire University for the Fall of 2018. In his first and only season in the EHL, the '97 netminder owned a record of 10-4-0 to go along with a 3.04 GAA and two shutouts.

"We are very proud and happy for Alec on his commitment to SNHU," said Wizards head coach and general manager Freddy Meyer. "Coach Walsh is bringing in a player who works extremely hard both on and off the ice. Alec developed tremendously as the season progressed, and it showed in his overall statistics. Outside of his regular goaltending responsibilities, Alec has phenomenal hands, and his three assists led all goaltenders in the EHL."

As Meyer mentioned, Marshall turned heads across the league with some of the passes he made up ice this past season. While only three of them led to goals, there were numerous other chances created by goaltender. The native of Nashua, NH gives a lot of credit to the Wizards for helping him reach the next step in his journey.

"Playing for the Wizards was one of the best experiences of my life," said Marshall. "Freddy and Kory have built a culture that promotes creativity, and they make it easy to get excited about coming to the rink everyday. In addition to their instruction on the ice, Adrian pushes his players off the ice to be better and better every day. The three of them, along with my teammates made it a year to remember, and I'm happy I had the opportunity to finish my junior career in Bedford. They all contributed to me fulfilling my dream of being a college hockey player. Outside of the Wizards program, I also have to thank all of my past coaches, family, and friends for guiding and supporting me along the way. Having said that, I'm excited to continue playing this great game for four more years while continuing my education at Southern New Hampshire University!"
