RoughRiders Defenseman Joins Growing List of Future Lancers

NORWALK, CT -- Duncan McIntosh, a defenseman for the Connecticut RoughRiders, has committed to Worcester State University for the Fall of 2018. After a couple seasons in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL), the '97 came to the EHL for his final season of junior hockey. With his commitment to join the Lancers, it's clear that McIntosh made the right decision.

"Duncan had been developing nicely at defense while he was with our RoughRiders junior program in Colorado," said RoughRiders head coach and general manager Eric Lind. "His sights were set on NCAA hockey and with his hard work and on-ice confidence he has made it payoff."

As Lind mentioned, McIntosh had spent the previous two seasons with the Superior RoughRiders, the organization's affiliate in the WSHL. It was a great journey for the native of Denver, CO, capped off by a year that saw him play in 50 of 52 possible games for Connecticut. Over the course of the season, McIntosh tallied a goal and eight assists to his name.

The Fall, McIntosh will join a program that has recruited the EHL heavily since the league was formed in 2013. The overall commitment total over the five seasons is 28, and that includes six players from the 2017-18 season.

Here is a list of all this year's EHL players that have committed to join the Lancers:

Matt Roe (Boston Jr. Rangers)
Duncan McIntosh (Connecticut RoughRiders)
Brian Smith (Valley Jr. Warriors)
Max Roth (Vermont Lumberjacks)
Will Ahearn (Walpole Express)
Henry Bruckner (Walpole Express)
